Yesterday, we delivered reading and learning materials to the pupils of Nakaseke South to enable them access quality education during this period when learners are stuck home due to COVID-19. Our team was led by both our Directors, Hon Namayanja Rose Nsereko and Mr Nsereko Charles Kawuma.

The reading materials were distributed to the village Local Council leaders with each village receiving a set of materials comprising of all subjects from Primary one to Primary Seven.

While addressing the leaders, Hon Namayanja said that despite the government disbursing reading and learning materials to all districts countrywide, they were not enough for each family to receive copies hence the foundation’s intervention.

“Government had provided 50 sets of material to be used by the whole district which was inadequate and yet the cost of photocopying the materials would be high for the parents to handle,” Namayanja said.

She furthermore called on the parents to prioritise the education of the children to build a firm future for the latter.
“Do your part as parents in raising your children to be responsible citizens of the country, for you never know who they will turn out to be in future,” she added.

On his part, Nsereko urged parents to support and protect children during this period, avail space and time for children to read and be aware that the most offenders of children’s rights are people close to them.

He donated spray pumps to each of the villages to enable the farmers to increase their productivity.

The Rose Namayanja Foundation values the education of children at all levels, we have put in place several programs to enable children achieve quality education for a better future.
